Youth Corps Alumni

There are more than 600 members of an elite group called Youth Corps Alumni. After Youth Corps, many of our alumni go on to attended 4-year colleges, including Ivy League schools and military academies. But it is not just about their educational path - they are making a difference in the world. They are changing lives.

Gabby has graduated from The United States Military Academy and is now studying to be a doctor.

Daisy overcame many obstacles, one of which was low self-esteem. Since Youth Corps she competed in the Miss SC Pageant and won Miss Congeniality and today has her masters degree.

Chris went through Youth Corps in year one, has earned five college degrees, graduated from USC School of Law, is a international litigation lawyer living in Europe, and has helped start several businesses.

YC Alumni SPOTLIGHTS

Alumni Spotlight – Donovan YC13 (’17-’18)

Youth Corps not only exposed Donovan to new experiences—from running a floral business to visiting local jails and engaging with nonprofits—it also helped him understand the importance of impact. “I realized leadership isn’t about being in charge. It’s about knowing how to lead and when to follow. It’s about doing the uncomfortable thing, because that’s where the growth is.”

Alumni Spotlight – Jonathan YC9 (’13-’14)

The gift Jonathan received from Youth Corps wasn’t just confidence—it was a sense of purpose, a supportive community, and the opportunity to become the leader he never knew he could be.

Alumni Spotlight – Jake YC19 (’23-’24)

Jake used the connections and skills he gained in Youth Corps to land a political internship and launch a nonprofit focused on promoting public transportation to reduce carbon emissions. His journey began with meeting his state representative during the Government module and winning a City of Columbia youth climate action grant.
